1. Page Size – what size will your pages be? Why?
Standard magazine size, which in this case would be 8’ x 11’. This might change according to what resources become available but for now that’s the planned size.
2. Print media – What will you print on? What size?
Printing paper, same size as magazine.
3. Printing technology – What type(s) of printers will you be using? Why?
Any rough printing will be done on home/ school printers, while the final project will be printed professionally at an available printing/ supply store.
4. Typography – which fonts will you be using? Be specific. Why?
Not exactly sure yet, a serif font, similar to Times Roman will be used for the text, while titles and such will be a more unique, attractive font such as Helvetica or Calibri. Fonts such as this will keep the catalogue flow better and keep it attractive to the eye.
5. Style – describe (verbally or visually) the style of your book.
The magazine’s style will be modern and simple, almost a mock up of an American Apparel Style book, with similar/ extra content.
6. Handmade techniques – describe any handmade components you will be using
A lot of the designs and drawings in the book will be hand created; products and additions to those products will sometimes be handmade as well.
7. Binding – What type of binding do you intend to use? Why? How will you do it?
I will most likely be using perfect bookbinding for this book. This will add to the idea of it being an actual catalogue/ magazine.
