Logo-brand-ness
So I came up with a logo for me which I like. The coffee (or tea!) stain is kind of representative of me... I think the coffe ring makes me think of late nights working on something when you've got a sudden strike of inspiration and you just keep going for hours and then you look at the clock and then BAM! Before you even realise t's 3:30 in the AM. I've definitley had a few nights like that :)
So first is the logo, I've had several different font choices and whatnot, (post those later) but I felt this one gelled with the coffee stain the best.

Secondly, here is a business card I made. Since I don't have an actual business, but I like to help people out when they need me I figured I'd just say that I'm awesome and you can call me. :)
and last but not least a short animation for my logo. Yes I know, I am no artist, that is a coffee mug and a hand, and I know that I'm no Flash expert, that's for sure, but you get the idea.

5. Having just watched an entire documentary devoted to a single typeface, what is your position on Helvetica? Explain.
I think I like hervetica because it has many varieties of font styles. Since there are many different styles of font, I could use them well to express what I want to express. Also it is very useful to use hervetica every where (It is globalized). Also I believe that if there was no hervetica, the life would be less fun.

Field Assignment #3- Shadow Picture
Just a field assignment, creating picture with shadows. I took a picture and then photoshoped it to make it look better!! M.B.
BRAND
This brand is directed towards, like many, young women. A fabric line, 'eelio' combines flamboyancy through solid bold colours, paired with repetition in advertising.
For example:
Handmade everything is basically where it's going, without any technological help. This allows almost everything to be custom.
Okay it's basically noon right now so instead of me keep on typing i'm just going to through up all the rest of the pictures and I'll post a full description later. Sorry!

Helvetica Questions - Amlesh
Watch the documentary Helvetica and answer the following questions in full sentences (20 marks)
1. Describe Helvetica – what are some core visual characteristics of the font?
Helvetica is a clear, ‘neutral’ font that has no central meaning in its form, and could be used on a wide variety of signs. Its simplicity is probably its main visual characteristic, as it can be utilized to express a variety emotions/ideas.
2. Provide a brief history of the typeface. What was so different about Helvetica from other typefaces?
Helvetica (derived from Confoederatio Helvetica, the Latin name for Switzerland) was developed in 1957 by Swiss Max Miedinger and Eduard Hoffmann. It’s uniqueness lays in its simplistic form (being composed of merely straight lines and basic curves).
3. Choose one of the people in the film who supported Helvetica, explain his/her argument.
Mike Carter believes that Helvetica is a font that is based around the seamless connection between the actual characters and their negatives (i.e. the black and the white spaces in between). He also believes that this aspect of the font results in a very static appearance that adds on to the font’s appearance.
4. Choose one of the people in the film who dislikes Helvetica, explain his/her argument.
Peter Carson believes that the font can be interpreted in many different ways, due to the shaping of the words, and its simplistic design. He also noted that one shouldn’t sacrifice the message intended for legibility.
5. Having just watched an entire documentary devoted to a single typeface, what is your position on Helvetica? Explain.
Helvetica, unlike most of the other fonts out there, bases its individuality in plainness, making it one of the most versatile fonts in existence. I actually like Helvetica because it can blend with its surroundings quite marvelously. Depending on the message it conveys, it can take many forms and shapes while still retaining its rudimentary structure.

Field Assignment #3
This is a portrait of Maarij done by me (Amlesh), in approximately 4 minutes. He likes cricket quite a bit, hence the bat/ball and the cricket pitch.
(LOGO)
(PORTFILOS)
(Illustrations of my skills, personalities and hobbies)
(illustrstion of hand made diary)
(Illustration of car,tree and hand)
(Those stencil could be used for T-shirt design)
(The blue thing sitting on the funky mashrrom represents me and the other characters are used mostly for my illustrations.)
(This is my character wearing a disco suit^__^
I like old styles of fasion and illustrations and media.
Old fashions are kind of unique and fun to seek)
(A girl with a singing bird and a Little Prince)

(This illustrations could be used for some book stories)
(Illustration design for magazine)
(Illustration design for CD)
(I like to draw pictures on paper bag because it appears in vintage style(I like old and messy stiye)
BRAND and PlANNITNG: My brand is for illustrations. I planned to creat a logo something that is simple, cute and eyecatching. The colour I used was blue and green. The reason I chose those colours is because those colours comforts people's eye. My logo is a handmade style (Which means that I did not use any computer programs like photoshop) because that shows my personality.(I like something that is made by hand). The tool I used for my logo is just a marker and pencil crayon. I like to illustrate by using pencil, pen, markers and pencil crayongs.(somethimes pastel too). My intended audience are people who want illustrations for their CDs,books, magazines, book markers, calenders, diaries, school equipments and also people who want main logo or main characters for their clothes brand(escpecially babies).
MY LOGO: I drew a character with happy face for my logo to express how enjoyable my illustrations are.
I drew a green bud to represent "imaginations" and "tree of ideas".
I usually get ideas from my imaginations for my illustration.
TWO IDENTITY SYSTEM PIECES: (business card and stickers)
I chose to make a business card and a sticker because it is easy to spread out to peoople.
My business card is also handmade and my stickers too. I did in this way to express my (free) style.
I wanted to approach to my intended audience with a comfortable image.
STATEMENT: Mint’s illustration is about creating and drawing something you imagined. The style of illustrations are very colourful and eye catching and somehow it gives some kind of a mood (happy, sad, mad and more). Also my illustrations contain mostly, human beings with a unique (?) fashion. I also like to draw a picture that contains surrealism (not realistic, something shocking that no one had attempted to create). I also try to design illustrations that contain deep meaning in to it.
Since my logo represents fun and imagination, I usually draw a picture that makes happy and exciting.
I wonder if I forgot to mention something. If I did, would you please comment me?
Also I wonder if I did this assignment correctly...I hope i did.
