50th year publication - Academics Layout (what we have so far)

To Mr.Bishop.

What we have so far (check the groupwork file for the 'Academics Layout' folder) is just the general section about academics that talks about some of our achievements. Mr. Shaw hasnt written anything more than that. Most of his article pertains to other sections (like sports, or even activites for example). This is what we could squeeze out of the 12 pages....and seeing as we cant add our own paragraphs regarding academics, we are not sure how to finish this (i.e. fill the 4 pages allotted for academics in the 50th year publication...) We tried to contact you yesterday but you were on an art trip and thus we couldn't tell you earlier. Today you are also away and thus we cannot really explain our predicament to you directly. We request that you consider not giving us late marks since we cannot finish it given the resources.

(Please reply back on the blog so that we can figure out what our next plan of action is)

Nightmare and Daydream

Ok so #2.

This is Nadia E again, and a bird picture I took last week.
So this has two kinda contradictory parts.
The first is the fact that the shadows of her arms kinda look like they are about to wrap around her and choke her. That symbolizes the feeling of being trapped within one's self. It's kinda like self-destruction too.
The background is a bunch of birds flying.
Birds = freedom, that's the second part.

Oh and if you haven't figured yet, this is the one that uses shadows to create an image.

This is supposed to be the one where you create an illustration using shadows.
It's not so much an illustration as it is a picture...
And it's not so much shadows as it is a projection.
I have a shadow one though Bishop, so don't worry!
I just like the awkward teenager vibe in this, and it actually has a message,
it's kinda like how when you're young you think that everybody is watching you. You need to dress nice, and act a certain way or people will judge. Then again, people will judge no matter what you do...

Field Assignment 2

so I did the tattoo one, except instead of focusing on a design, I tried to make an epic font... I think I was moderately successful. It doesn't look like a lot of work, but I did it by hand first and spent like an hour trying out different ways to write out this quote. Then I scanned it did it on the computer so I could get it the way I want and spent a good while tweaking it this way and that... It looks really simple, but I'm pleased with the way the final product turned out.

So the stupid "library is full" sign always gets on my nerves. I just dont understand how you can close down a library for educational purposes even though there are never any people in it! Y'all have no idea how long it took me to do this. I took all of the photos separately under the light in my kitchen, and for some reason every single photo came out with awkward mis-matching tones. So like, 2 hours of editing later, I figured I'd just appy a really loud filter and make all of the grey go away. Thank you addition filter <3333333

Headspill!

Okay so I finally figured it out what the accoutn was; this is just supposed to represent the contents of my head when I'm dreaming, cause I think dreaming really shows a lot about a person subconsciously. Plus I love sleep.

And there was a few different versions of this but for some reason I really like the sketchy version just because dreaming is so surreal in a sense, the cartoon imagery seemed fitting.
