April’s Book Questions
1. What is your book about?
My book will be a story about a wolf and its pack. It will include the struggles of a young wolf abandoned by its mother and clan. It will be a children’s book or an elementary school level book. It will include images and text. The wolf character will go through many things and change through the story.
2. What makes your content choice specific to you?
Well, I have been drawing wolves more then half of the year and it has become my new thing, especially this year, so why not? It is also my strength to draw and write about one. I think it will also challenge my own skills since I have never written about an animal only a human. So giving a wolf a human persona will be interesting for me and the reader.
3. How are you going to represent your content?
I will represent it with mostly illustrations that I draw; there will be no copy-writed images since it is all my work. It will be a basic story that is straightforward and to the point. It will start off as text and periodically through the book there will be drawings of the character I have made.
4. How do you intend to communicate the content?
My communication method is purely text that I have made up. It will be shown through chapters. I am creating the story so everything I write will be mine and mine alone. I will not be using anything that is not mine.
5. What content editing methods will you use?
The editing content I will use will be Microsoft word (for the text) Possibly Indesign and Photoshop (for the images). I will possibly use other image software like MS paint or use pen and paper for sketches.
6. What media (materials) are you using to make your imagery?
Materials I will use: Scanner, Paper (glossy, non glossy), Pen/Pencil/Pencil crayons. I am not sure just what to bind it with yet, but I am thinking using the spiral bind. I will also use software: Photoshop. These are the materials I will use to make my graphics for my story.
7. Why are you making this particular book?
I am making this book because the character I have created interests me. I have many sketches of this particular wolf and I love to write. I love to challenge myself with new things to write about and seeing as I only seem to draw wolves now a days. Why not? I really love them; they are one of my favourite animals and writing about them in my own content will make me happy and easily finished this assignment.
8. How does your choice of content suit your skills, experience, and interest?
This choice suits my skills, experience and interest because, well. One, I have written novels before. I have finished over 3 of my own novels with over 300 pages to them. I adore writing; it has been my passion for years. My experience with wolves is easy. They were the first thing I learned to draw. They are elegant and their way of life interests me very much. Since I love to write stories, why not one about a wolf? It would be cool to give a wolf a humanistic way of thinking. I have used photoshop for 3 years. I am still learning and I think I am not too ‘bad’ at it. I have never used it to draw my wolves before. So I think it would be a good challenge for me.
9. Describe the style and look of your book and how it is linked to the content.
The style of my book will be very ‘homemade’. The style of my art will be my own, and the binding as well will be my work. The way I write is my own style. The colours in my pictures are a very ‘earthy’ tone, so I will keep that consistent through the whole make of my book. I am thinking of making it a very ‘foresty’ mood to it to suit my content since most of it will take place in the wild or the outdoors.
