- What is your book about?
It’s going to describe, by way of illustrations/examples and words, some “Random Generating” functions and genetic algorithms.
2. What makes your content choice specific to you?
I have a passion for Computer Science and the idea of creating something structured out of randomness is quite interesting to me.
3. How are you going to represent your content?
As mentioned earlier, I will utilize images, cool fractals and some text (though I am trying to minimize text) to further explain the major themes of my book
4. How do you intend to communicate the content?
4. How do you intend to communicate the content?
I am going to use a mixture of illustrations, examples and writing to show off the unique characteristics of fractals and genetic algorithms.
5. What content editing methods will you use?
5. What content editing methods will you use?
All the editing will most probably be done by hand. However I will use programs like Photoshop and Corel Draw to edit some of the illustrations I will be using.
6. What media are you using to make your imagery?
6. What media are you using to make your imagery?
As mentioned before, I’ll mainly be utilising pictures that I will be generating via some C++ (or Python or Turing) code. Also, I am trying to incorporate some sort of a texture for the paper I am going to use to print my book up with.
7. Why are you making this particular book?
7. Why are you making this particular book?
To exemplify the beauty of certain fractals, and to further the readers’ understanding of some very basic and seemingly random algorithms.
8. How does your choice of content suit your skills, experience, and interest?
8. How does your choice of content suit your skills, experience, and interest?
As this question is merely a restatement of #2:
“I have a passion for Computer Science and the idea of creating something structured out of randomness is quite interesting to me.” So, my programming skills will definitely some in handy, and so will my experience in a lot of these algorithms.
9. Describe the style and look of your book and how it is linked to the content.
9. Describe the style and look of your book and how it is linked to the content.
Well, I am trying to make the book as ‘fractal-like’ as possible. In other words, there’s going to be some recurrent recursive pattern that will sort of encompass the book. I am still quite unsure, however, on what material the book will be printed on and how the title page will be arranged.
